Kwan

I'm an emerging artist from Hong Kong. In 2019, I concluded my master’s degree in Glass Art and Science at VICARTE (Vidro e Cerâmica para as Artes) in Portugal. I graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University in 2015.

-Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.-

My work aims to animate the interconnection of the environment and beings. I craft and reform objects into a contraption in order to generate an extraordinary dialogue. Through the intrinsic properties of glass, by modelling, moulding, tweaking and cajoling, expanding and oppressing, I create objects to experience the struggle and the tension between my inner self and the outer world.
